PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Certificate in Arabic Studies is offered for adult participants and it covers various basic knowledge of the Arabic language. The main focus of the study is to develop four language skills namely speech, listening, reading and comprehension at the basic level. This program is suitable for participants who have never studied Arabic or have followed it, but have not been able to master the basic skills of the language. By following this program, it can help participants to master the language for the purpose of deepening Islamic studies. This program is conducted in Malay and only available in Bukit Batok I centre.

Admission Criteria:

  • Not less than 17 years.

  • Know the Arabic letters and have learned to recite or follow the Iqra' program.

  • Registration $62

  • Monthly $87.80

  • Fees do not include books and supplementary notes.

Program Duration and Time

Semester 1 (6 Months)

Term 1 : Jan - Mar (13 Weeks)

  • Study: 10 weeks

  • School Break: 1 week

  • Examinations: 2 weeks

Term 2 : Apr -Jun (13 Weeks)

  • Study: 10 weeks

  • School Break: 1 week

  • Examinations: 2 weeks

Semester 2 (6 Months)

Term 3 : Jul - Sep (13 Weeks)

  • Study: 10 weeks

  • School Break: 1 week

  • Examinations: 2 weeks

Term 4 : Oct - Dec (13 Weeks)

  • Study: 10 weeks

  • School Break: 1 week

Program Syllabus

Certificate of Andalus Arabic Language is a 2 year part-time program. Participants must complete 16 modules (attain 48 credit hours) within the allotted time to complete their studies. In addition, this program is also open for participants who want to study through auditing.

  • Arabic Conversation I, II & III

  • Qira'ah Wal Kitabah I, II & III

  • Arabic Culture and Dialect

  • Al-Isti’ab I (Comprehension)

  • Grammar I & II

  • Morphology I & II

  • Classic and Modern Arabic

  • Al-Qur’an Arabic

  • Compostion I & II

Assessment and Certification

Assessments are conducted on an ongoing basis and at the end of each term. The purpose of continuous evaluation is to enable participants and lecturers to assess the abilities and achievements of a participant from time to time so that participants and lecturers can take appropriate action.

Award in Certification

Certificate of Arabic Language will be awarded according to the classes based on the Grade Point Average accumulated after graduation.
