NOTICE

GRADUAL EASE OF CIRCUIT BREAKER – PHASE 2

Assalamu’alaikum wr. Wb.

The Multi-Ministry Taskforce announced on 15 Jun 2020 that Phase Two of the post-Circuit Breaker period will start on 19 Jun 2020. Hence, private tuition and enrichment classes including Al-Zuhri, Andalus and Cordova will be allowed to resume face-to-face operations from the date mentioned above. To reduce any risk of transmission of Covid-19, safe management practices such as the use of Safe Entry, safe distancing measures and health checks will be implemented for all employees, visitors and students.

Below are some guidelines for reference:

Virtual Classroom

Virtual classroom based on the original class schedule and timings will continue for the month of June and July. Latest update on the resumption of physical classes will be announced before the end of July. The management is currently considering a comprehensive range of factors and making adequate preparations to ensure that the welfare of students, parents and employees are assured, and that safe management measures are understood and complied at all times. We are also actively looking at various approaches to technology facilitated learning, blended learning, etc. for various age groups (age appropriate) such as preschool, primary, secondary, post secondary, degree and post-degree. We will ensure that every initiative developed follow appropriate methods and meet the overall objectives of religious education.

Office and Centre Operations

Maintenance work including cleaning and inspection of facilities and equipment at the various centres will be carried out by the employees and the respective contractors on 19 – 28 Jun. This is necessary since office and centre operations have been closed for nearly three months due to circuit breaker measures, since the end of March this year. Office and centre operations will resume physically with effect from 29 Jun. At the same time, conscious efforts are being made to ensure that all transactions, such as fees payment, student registration, book purchase, inquiries, etc. occur online (replacing physical transactions at counters). We understand that online transactions (go-digital) are especially encouraged so as to control the spread of Covid-19.

We hope that these initiatives can contribute to improve the quality of Islamic education and that religious education can continue to take place despite challenging situations and conditions. Parents and students are strongly recommended to refer to the student portal, whatsapp and social media platforms for details and updates. Your understanding and cooperation are very much appreciated.  Wassalam wr. wb.

Dear Sir/Madam

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION FROM APR – DEC 2020 – FACING THE CHALLENGE OF COVID-19

May you and your family be protected and blessed by Allah SWT always.

The Multi-Ministry Taskforce has announced the gradual ease of circuit breaker measures beginning 2 June 2020.

However, private educational and enrichment centres, including Andalus and Cordova, are still not allowed to resume operations during this initial phase.

Taking into account various factors and current developments, Andalus and Cordova have taken necessary initiatives to adapt teaching and learning in the following stages:

Stage 1: April – May 2020

Virtual Classroom from the Main Studio

  1. Synchronous (live) lessons are conducted from the main studio and integrated in groups according to levels (from preschool to post secondary education).

  2. Asynchronous (recorded) lessons are made available to students who missed their synchronous lessons.

  3. In addition to virtual lessons, students (in preschool, primary and secondary levels) are also required to complete e-learning assignments individually, with support from their parents.

  4. Asatizah teaches core programs (from the main studio) and Iqra lessons (in small groups), monitors students' participation and supervises their e-learning assignments.

Stage 2: June 2020

Virtual Classroom based on Original Schedule and Timings

  1. Virtual lessons resume to original schedule and timings (before Covid-19 outbreak).

  2. Asatizah conduct virtual lessons directly from home for their students.

  3. Duration for virtual lessons are appropriately adjusted and customised to ensure proper adaptation and effectiveness in learning.

  4. Various educational technology is introduced gradually, and is customised and adapted to achieve the learning objectives.

Stage 3: July 2020 (Subjected to the latest developments on Covid-19)

Commencement of Blended Learning (Combination of Virtual and Physical Classroom)

  1. Commencement of Blended Learning i.e. alternation of virtual and physical lessons on a weekly basis so as to adhere safe distancing measures and other safety requirements. This means that students in each class will be divided into two groups, each group attends virtual lessons and physical lessons in alternation.

  2. Lesson durations are preserved as per original timings (before Covid-19 outbreak) and adjusted accordingly so as to accommodate Blended Learning initiatives.

  3. Various educational technology is introduced gradually, and is customised and adapted to achieve the learning objectives.

NOTICE

Assalamu’alaikum Wr. Wb.

Sir/Mdm,

PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES AGAINST CORONAVIRUS DISEASE (COVID-19)

May we all be protected and blessed by Allah SWT always.

In response to DORSCON Orange as announced by the Ministry of Health on Friday 7 Feb 2020, we have stepped up our efforts in preparation for virtual learning. If the DORSCON level is raised to red and the Ministry of Education orders all conventional schools to be closed, then this education centre will also act in compliance to the regulations.

If this were to happen, students will not be required to attend school and will be guided to continue their lessons at home. Virtual learning will be fully introduced, such as online learning and e-learning. Any additional information, details and instructions will be given to the parents and students via the student portal, education centre website, social media and Whatsapp.

As for now, we have been clearly informed by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education to take additional precautionary measures in all our education centres as follows:

Temperature and Health Monitoring

Students are advised to measure their body temperature before going to the education centre. If the student has a body temperature ≥ 38.0 º C or having symptoms such as running nose, cough, sore throat or breathing difficulties, it is advisable not to attend classes and consult medical advice immediately.

The teachers will welcome the students before entering their class and conduct verbal and visual health screening so as to ensure that the students are fit to attend class. Students who are unwell will be isolated, and parents will be contacted to fetch the student home.

Good Personal and Environmental Hygiene

Students are advised to continue with the practice of good personal hygiene, such as washing hands and putting on clean clothings. The education centre also provides hand sanitizer, if required by the staff and students.

All staff have been advised to improve the cleanliness standards of the education centre to ensure that the main office, classes and the environment are always clean so as to reduce the risk of viral transmission

Social Distancing Measures

It is recommended that parents who come to the education centre to send or fetch the students to avoid overcrowding when standing at the lobby or at the education centre premises, so as to comply with the social distancing measures as advised by the Ministry of Health.

Teachers will ensure that students exit their respective classes gradually upon completing their classes.

Staff, parents and students are advised not to shake hands at this moment and to replace with other forms of greetings deemed appropriate so to reduce the risk of viral transmission.

We seek your cooperation to oblige and adhere to the above precautionary measures. Any further guidelines and instructions will be given from time to time based on needs.

Parents and students are strongly recommended to refer to the student portal, education centre website and follow our Facebook and Instagram platform (see first) for updates.

May Allah SWT grant good health and well-being to us and our family, and for all the citizens throughout the nation.

Thank you. Wassalamu’alaikum Wr. Wb.

Best Regards,
