PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Advanced Diploma in Islamic Studies offers as a part-time study for the post-secondary level which includes various specializations in religious disciplines. In addition to the study of the core disciplines of Islam in their own specialization such as al-Quran, al-Hadith and al-Syariah and Aqeedah, It also emphasizes of contextualization and application of these disciplines:

  • Quran and Sunnah

  • Fiqh and Usul Fiqh

  • Philosophy in Aqeedah

  • Education Islam

This program aims to provide opportunities for graduates of Andalus, Cordova, Al-Zuhri and other educational institutions Pre-diploma programs to further their Islamic studies to a higher level (part time). With this, they have the opportunity to deepen their thinking and understanding of Islam in alignment to current needs and challenges. This program is conducted in Malay.

Learning Outcome

Knowledge

Mastering the core disciplines, understanding the concept of integration in disciplines and being able to relate (worldly and hereafter) to daily life.

Understanding of Maqasid Syariah, has a clear Islamic world view and able to apply in accordance to the current context.


Believing Giving and Piety

Has praiseworthy morals and is able to put something in its place (insan adabi).

Adhering to the Quran and Sunnah in daily life and having a deep belief in Islam.

Admission Criteria:

  • This program is open to all aged 19 years and above. 

  • Participants have completed and graduated from a formal Islamic studies at diploma or preuniversity level at religious institutions. 

 

Audit Interview:

  • Not less than 19 years.

Fees:

  • Registration $62

  • Monthly $101

  • Fees do not include books and supplementary notes.

Attendance Requirement:

  • Students must have at least 60% attendance for each module.

  • Students with less than 60% attendance for each module are not eligible to sit for examination.

  • Students are not allowed to claim fees for modules that they have not attended.

  • Students who wish to postpone their studies are required to write in with reasons to the Education department and request for the GIRO deduction to be suspended. Andalus will not be held responsible if students do not notify on the above.

Program Duration and Time

The program practices a 2-semester system for a period of 12 months. Each semester will take 6 months and divided into 2 terms with 11 weeks of study in each term, followed by 1 weeks of examination and 1 week of school break after the end of the term.

Lessons will be held once a week for 2 hours 45 minutes.

Semester 1 (6 Months)

Term 1 : Jan - Mar (13 Weeks)

  • Study Week: Jan - Mar (11 weeks)

  • Exam Week: Mac (1 week)

  • School Break: Apr (1 week)

Term 2 : Apr -Jun (13 Weeks)

  • Study Week : Apr - Jun (11 weeks)

  • Exam Week: Jun (1 week)

  • School Break: Jun (1 week)

Semester 2 (6 Months)

Term 3 : Jul - Sep (13 Weeks)

  • Study Week: Jul - Sep (11 weeks)

  • Exam Week: Sep (1 week)

  • School Break: Sep (1 week)

Assessment

Term 4 : Oct - Dec (13 Weeks)

  • Study Week: Oct - Dec (11 weeks)

  • Study Week: Dec (1 week)

  • School Break: Dec (1 week)

Written assessments are conducted at the end of each module. In addition to written assessments, participants will also be assessed from assignments, classroom participation and attendance.
